Fr. Alessio Parente OFM, cap., assisted Padre Pio during the last six years of his life. After Padre Pio’s death in 1968, Fr. Alessio became the official English Language correspondent at the Friary in San Giovani Rotondo, serving the needs of all English speaking pilgrims that travelled on Pilgrimage to San Giovani Rotondo. Fr. Alessio’s travels took him over the English-speaking world, from 1968 to 2000, spreading Padre Pio’s spirituality.

This interview took place in 1985 and is the ONLY record in the English Language of Fr. Alessio giving a detailed account of what it was like to live so close to the Saint from 1962 to 1968.

Fr. Alessio died in January 2000, and this recording has become a valuable insight into His Life with Padre Pio.
